Dear Trina,
As I sit here beside my strong, beautiful wife and my healthy, gorgeous daughter, I am thinking of you. I'm mostly thinking of your wisdom, patience, and strength--a strength that supported us all for what was a very trying couple of days. You were so present with Felicia when she was laboring; you gave her the kind of support that our nurses (wonderful though they were) could never offer. I'll always remember the sight of you catching a few much-needed moments of sleep on the bare hardwood floor, only after you were sure that Felicia and I were both as comfortable as possible.
There were frightening moments, but your face never showed signs of fear. You stayed calm so that you could guide us through the process and help us make the best decision for "Team Amalia." And in the stolen moments of calm, you laughed with us to lift our spirits. In the end, you helped us deliver a perfect, beautiful baby. Please know that you will always be in our hearts and that we will never forget what you have done for us.
Love,
Ross, Felicia and Amalia
